Andrin Bühler
Hi, I’m Andrin, a UX/UI Designer with a strong interest in creating digital experiences that are not only intuitive but also environmentally responsible. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Digital Ideation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where I focused on User Experience, User Interface Design, and Digital Experience.
During my studies, I explored Sustainable UX Design and investigated how designers can make conscious decisions early in the design process to reduce environmental impact and embed sustainability into the core of digital products.
Before stepping into the industry, I worked as a UX Researcher at HSLU, where I deepened my understanding of user-centered research methods. After completing my Master’s degree, I joined Internezzo as part of the Digital Experience team, where I collaborate on developing engaging user experiences and creating user-centered digital solutions.
About the session
Sustainable UX Design
Transforming the UX Design Process by Seamlessly Integrating Sustainability into Every Design Decision
Digital products silently consume energy — often far more than we realize. In this session, I explore how everyday UX decisions shape the environmental footprint of the web and why sustainability, despite its growing urgency, is still rarely integrated into UX processes.
Drawing from my Master’s research, I share key insights into the hidden energy impact of common design patterns and introduce a new approach that links sustainability with established UX principles. As the framework unfolds, you’ll see how small, strategic changes in everyday design decisions can unlock meaningful sustainability potential.
This session is for UX practitioners and digital teams who want to understand how responsible, sustainable design can become a natural part of the UX process — and why it’s time for the industry to rethink its impact.
