Dimitri Wüest

Hi, I’m Dimitri, a UX designer with a strong focus on e-commerce. I’ve worked in agencies, in research, and now at Migros Online, where I contribute to shaping grocery shopping in Switzerland, online and in-store.

I hold degrees in Software Development and UX Design. My thesis explored app accessibility, where I evaluated grocery apps to uncover and address common barriers faced by people with disabilities.

Can Everyone Shop? The Accessibility of Swiss Grocery Apps

Buying groceries online can be a game changer for people with disabilities ‒ but how accessible are Swiss grocery apps?

In this talk, I’ll share the results of my master’s thesis, in which I evaluated three popular apps. We’ll go beyond the technicalities of WCAG evaluations and take a closer look at the specific barriers blind users face when trying to shop for groceries. Together, we’ll look at how inclusive design can help cross-functional teams create apps that work for everyone in an evolving digital world.
