About the talk
Designing an AR Viewer to Navigate Changing Geospatial Information Needs
In this talk, we report on the results of a project conducted in collaboration with OpenGIS.ch and supported by the Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse. It concerns the QField app – an award-winning mobile tool to collect, manage, and edit the geographically referenced information on the go tailored to the needs of the GIS (Geographic Information System) fieldwork, such as urban planning, infrastructure work, forestry, geology, and ecology.
We identified 2D and 3D data needs regarding interactivity in the field to inform the design and implementation of the geospatial AR viewer for QField to improve spatial understanding and decision-making in situ.
